Manchester United will tonight be without Anthony Martial for the visit of Omonia Nicosia in the UEFA Europa League.
The striker endured a stuttering start to the season to earn a place in new manager Erik ten Hag’s squad after a superb pre-season and was forced off by another injury in the 2-1 win at Everton.
Martial will now sit out the group game and must be assessed before the visit of Newcastle.
“Not (training) today,” Ten Hag told reports of Martial. “We’ll see how it goes until Sunday.”
Martial overcame hamstring and Achilles problems before suffering a back complaint on Sunday, frustrating both the player and head coach.
“I’ve had several conversations with him about it,” he said. “I’m really disappointed in him.
