Luka Modric will not feature when Real Madrid attempt to win Champions League Group F at second-placed RB Leipzig.
Real Madrid will be without Luka Modric when they face RB Leipzig in the Champions League on Tuesday.
Modric did not travel to Germany with the Madrid team on Monday after withdrawing from the squad belatedly.
The midfielder opened the scoring in Saturday’s 3-1 LaLiga defeat of Sevilla before being substituted after 77 minutes.
The club did not say why Modrič will miss the match with Bundesliga side Leipzig.
A club statement said: “Luka Modric will not play in tomorrow’s Champions League group stage match between Real Madrid and RB Leipzig at the RB Arena.
“The Croatian was named in [head coach Carlo] Ancelotti’s squad for the match but pulled out at the last minute and will not travel to Leipzig with the team.”
Ballon d’Or winner Karim Benzema and Federico Valverde remain sidelined due to injury.
Holders Madrid have already secured their place in the round of 16 and can win Group F if they avoid defeat.
