Paris Saint-Germain face growing speculation Kylian Mbappe wants to depart, but Luis Campos has dismissed those claims.

Kylian Mbappe has “never” told Paris Saint-Germain he wants to leave in January, says Luis Campos, despite continued reports of the forward’s discontent.

World Cup winner Mbappe has signed a new three-year deal with the Ligue 1 champions ahead of the 2022-23 season, seemingly ending speculation over a potential move to Real Madrid.

However, new reports claim the France international wants to leave Paris in January, with Madrid once again his preferred destination.

Ahead of Wednesday’s UEFA Champions League decider with Benfica, PSG’s football adviser Campos has rubbished suggestions that Mbappe wants to leave.

“It’s information. We have rumors every day and we can’t come and talk about them every day,” Campos told Canal+.

“In this case it’s special because we’re a few hours away from a very important match; it’s serious. It’s serious because my name is also mentioned. And mainly because I’m with Kylian every day [and] he’s never spoken to me about leaving in January.

“I was with the president and with the president Kylian also never talked about leaving in January. That means it’s not a statement from the player, but information.

“Before a game like this, it is very serious and that is why I am here: I want to deny and say clearly that Kylian never spoke, neither to me nor to the president, about leaving PSG in January. The question was never raised.”

Reports suggested that Mbappe had not settled in the French capital, citing his role in PSG’s attack, an inability to bolster their defensive options and a breakdown in his relationship with team-mate Neymar.

“Compared to me, I have a contract with PSG for three years, I am very happy to be here in this house and I work every day so that PSG has something special after the end of my contract,” added Campos.

“We talk to Kylian every day, as well as Neymar, [Lionel] Messi, Danilo [Pereira], Vitinho, [Marco] Verratti, all the players.

“In terms of recruitment, I’ve already said what I said last month [about the disappointing transfer window], I was clear.

“The most important thing is to let people know that we are working very hard every day, we are very happy to be here and we are giving everything to satisfy PSG.”
