Lisandro Martinez has brushed off concerns over his height the criticism that was aimed at him following his start at Manchester United.
Pundits were quick to point to Martinez’s 5’9 height as United endured a poor start to the season, losing to Brighton and Brentford while conceding six goals.
However, the Red Devils have won their last four Premier League games since then and Martinez has formed a solid partnership with Raphael Varane.
“To be honest, it’s a dream come true to play at a big club like Manchester United, especially to play in the Premier League, which I think is one of the best leagues in the world,” Martinez told TyC Sports.
“It’s nice to catch the rhythm of the Premier League, so I’m very happy.
“I don’t pay attention to [criticism]. I believe in myself, I believe in myself. I always work hard every day. That’s what gets you results in the end.”
Martinez was speaking after Lionel Messi scored the winner after Lautaro Martinez’s opener as Argentina beat Honduras 3-0 on Saturday.
United’s recent form has seen them jump up to fifth in the Premier League, six points behind current leaders Arsenal. After the international break, they will face Manchester City.
