Lionel Messi scored two goals – the second a brilliant long-range chip – and he feels good after Argentina thrashed Honduras in Miami.
Argentina star Lionel Messi believes he is beginning to find his feet at Paris Saint-Germain, having required a year to settle in after his move to France.
Messi scored just 11 goals in 34 appearances during his first season at PSG in 2021-22, but has already struck six times in 11 outings for the Ligue 1 giants this campaign.
Lionel Messi spoke about Enzo Fernández, Thiago Almada and his current form with PSG.
Messi scored two goals for Argentina in a 3-0 win against Honduras. And while the spotlight was on him, there were two players making their debut for the Argentine national team.
Atlanta United’s Thiago Almada and Benfica’s Enzo Fernández wore the Argentinian national team jersey for the first time. The Mundo Albiceleste were in a media scrum and here is what Messi had to say about the two players:
“I saw them as very good, they are guys we already know. Who has already trained with us in the past summoning. Thiago is very fresh, he is a very fast player and he can do a lot one on one. He is very cunning, he is not afraid of anyone.
“Enzo is a player with a big personality, he has a good foot and I believe they are two great players.
The Argentine also spoke about his current form for his club.
“I feel good, unlike last year and I knew it would be like that. Last year, as I said, I had a bad season. I came (this year) with a different head, more used to the club, to the dressing room, to the game, to my teammates. I feel very good.
