Paris Saint-Germain have made a blistering start to Ligue 1. The Parisians crushed Clermont (0-5), Montpellier (5-2) and Lille (1-7) in the first three matchdays, scoring 17 goals and running away with the lead.

A dazzling start in which Christophe Galtier used a 3-4-1-2 in which the ‘MNM’ frontline fit like a glove and each of the three shined.

Kylian Mbappe has four goals and Lionel Messi has three goals and two assists. Neither, however, have the numbers of Neymar, who is unleashed.

“He is the most balanced of the first three. He is a player who has a lot of intensity,” Galtier said after the win in Lille. It was a game in which the Brazilian scored a flurry of goals and a hat-trick of assists.

It was a display in which he shared an attacking partnership with Mbappe and Messi, which also paid off against Clermont (a goal and two assists) and Montpellier (a brace), taking his tally to five goals and six assists in three games.

Neymar is now the top scorer of his star-studded team. Adding to that the Trophee des Champions, which PSG won against Nantes (4-0) with two goals from Neymar, the Brazilian has now scored seven goals in four games in all competitions.

“The market can always bring surprises, but I didn’t shy away from Neymar saying he wants to leave. He works and performs well and I don’t see him as a player who is waiting for something,” Galtier said.
