Frenkie de Jong reportedly has no interest in signing with Manchester United, instead preferring either Chelsea or Bayern Munich if he is to leave Barcelona.

De Jong has been at the center of Barcelona’s transfer window, with widespread belief that the club must sell the 25-year-old to settle their accounts.

The Netherlands international has made 140 club appearances for Barcelona in the three seasons since joining from Ajax and is determined to make his mark on where he will spend the next few years of his prime career.

An explosive report by Spanish publication Sport says De Jong “doesn’t like the city of Manchester or the way United work”, claiming he feels the club has displayed “unusual behaviour” in recent years.

It’s also clear that he values Champions League football at this stage in his career and any move away from the Spanish giants would have to see him at a club on the same level.

According to the report, Chelsea are waiting for De Jong to officially reject United’s approach before making a formal offer, but there is interest.

In the end, he would prefer to stay at Barcelona, and if the club can’t clear up the issue of his substantial unpaid wages, he may push through.
