After all the rumors pointed Frenkie De Jong out as the top target for Erik ten Hag in this transfer market, the Manchester United manager could be seeking for other Barcelona’s player to sign this summer.
The 2022 transfer window is still open and every manager is looking to get the best available pieces to improve their squad. Erik ten Hag, new Manchester United manager, is under scrutiny as he looks for some players at Barcelona, but right now it’s not about Frenkie de Jong or Memphis Depay.
In the last few weeks, Frenkie de Jong has been in almost every rumor surrounding Manchester United. The Dutch midfielder could be used as currency for Barcelona, but it would not be easy to get him out of Spain as he wants to succeed with the Blaugranas.
As for Erik ten Hag, Frenkie’s compatriot and former manager, he is building a new project at Manchester United. He has been linked with the midfielder in recent days, but it is uncertain whether the player wants to move to England. Now the coach could be interested in a new piece from the current Barcelona squad to reunite with him at the Red Devils.
According to The Sun, Sergino Dest is in the spotlight for a move away from Barcelona this summer. Erik ten Hag could be interested in the right-back for around €20m, but it wouldn’t be an easy move as other things would have to happen in Spain.
It has been a complicated transfer window regarding Barcelona and the Premier League. Recently, the Culers have been in contention against Chelsea for Jules Kounde, the Sevilla centre-back. The Blaugranas are also looking to convince Marcos Alonso and Cesar Azpilicueta to join them this summer. If the latter agrees, it would open the door for Sergin Desta to leave Spain and move to Manchester, as he would no longer have a place in the squad.
As for Manchester United, Aaron Wan-Bissaka is the starting right-back today, with Diogo Dalot behind him. Still, The Hag is clearly not happy with the England player and would be looking for a weapon he knows well such as Sergino. These days are decisive for both Barcelona and Manchester United.
