Barcelona president Joan Laporta has confirmed the club have been in talks with Leeds United regarding Raphinha, who “wants to come” to Camp Nou.
The 25-year-old looks set to leave Leeds amid a tough battle for his services, with Chelsea reportedly accepting an offer, while Arsenal are also said to be interested.
Barcelona have long been regarded as favorites, however, despite questions about whether the club could afford to win winger due to its financial woes – despite being promoted by a television deal this week.
Laporta has confirmed that Raphinha really wants to move to Barcelona.
“We have talked to Leeds, I don’t think they will be upset. We can communicate and speak for ourselves,” he told reporters on Saturday.
“What happens is that there are other clubs that want Raphinha and make their suggestions. He wants to come.”
Laporta has also confirmed that two agreements will be officially signed this week, with Barcelona acquiring Franck Kessie and Andreas Christensen on a free transfer following the end of their contracts with Milan and Chelsea respectively.
He added: “We will present Kessie on Wednesday and Christensen on Thursday.”
The club is expected to announce a new contract with Ousmane Dembele who is reportedly ready to accept a pay cut to continue with Xavi’s team.
