Barcelona president Joan Laporta has confirmed that La Blaugrana have finalised deals to sign free agents Franck Kessie and Andreas Christensen.
Both players were available for free transfers after the expiry of their contracts at AC Milan and Chelsea respectively at the end of the 2021/22 season.
Kessie finished five seasons in Milan driving high, helping the club to its first Scudetto in more than a decade by scoring six league goals in 31 games. Christensen, on the other hand, left Chelsea to win the final FIFA Club World Cup and UEFA Champions League campaign the previous season.
Speaking in an interview, Laporta confirmed both signings and dates to be announced as Barcelona players :.
“We will present Kessie on Wednesday and Christensen on Thursday,” he said.
The Barça president has also given an update on the possible arrival of Bayern Munich star Robert Lewandowski, acknowledging that the club is ‘glad’ that Lewa is willing to join.
“Lewandowski is a Bayern player and I would rather control myself in this matter,” he said.
“I respect Bayern and I will not talk about another team player. We thank him for wanting to come to Barça and we are very happy.”
