Cristiano Ronaldo is far from happy at Manchester United and his future still isn’t certain at Old Trafford ahead of the new season.

While Bayern Munich have denied their interest in the striker, it seems Jose Mourinho wants to meet his compatriot, as he urges the Roma to make a wishful swoop.

That according to former Roma defender Fabio Petruzzi apparently told the Italian store Retesport about his former club’s interest in Ronaldo.

The striker has one year left on his contract with Manchester United, but the team’s poor performance last season and a slow start to the summer window have left the star angry.

He is said to be part of Erik ten Hag’s plans and Ronaldo is pleased with the appointment of the former Ajax manager, but that does not mean that both sides are fully confident.

That being said, Mourinho and Ronaldo were at loggerheads when the coach left Real Madrid, although they respected each other.

The Roma enjoy life under Mourinho, and his victory in the Europa Conference League has boosted his reputation after a difficult few years with Manchester United and Tottenham.

Reaching an agreement is believed to be complicated for the Roma, however, Ronaldo’s salary at United could not be the same as Serie A.
