No way out for Brazilian superstar Neymar Jr

Even Paris Saint-Germain are in need of cutting some costs this summer and the sale of Neymar would greatly ease some of the economic tension at the club after Kylian Mbappe‘s recent renewal.

However, the Brazilian’s high price tag and extortionate wages make such a scenario almost impossible.

Based on PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi‘s comments to Media, the club are looking for a change of identity, one that Neymar Junior no longer fits into.

“We are looking for young, talented, determined, and winning players, people who want to die for this badge,” said Nasser Al-Khelaifi in an exclusive interview with MARCA.

“We want to be strong together, to play as a team, and for the club to be above all else.”

It is clear that Neymar has left where he was thought to be missing from the PSG jigsaw back when he signed from Barcelona and has now become a burden.

Al-Khelaifi did not confirm or deny that the former Barcelona man may have left.

“We can’t talk about it in the media, some will come and some will leave but this is a private discussion,” he said.

It is not easy to get rid of Neymar. In fact, the opposite is true. PSG’s 222 million euros paid to Barcelona made the Brazilian the most expensive transfer in history. Returning the investment, obviously, seems impossible. Even half.

Another obstacle that makes Neymar’s sale almost impossible is his high salary. The former Barcelona player, until his retirement from Mbappe, became the highest paid player at PSG and Ligue 1: earning 48.9 million euros, and has a contract until 2025.
