Salah’s contract expires in 2023, but the two parties have not yet reached an agreement on a renewal of the contract, with the Egyptian player demanding £ 400,000 a week to sign a new contract.
According to The Sun, Liverpool could accept an offer of R60 million pounds (70m euros) for Salah, while Real Madrid will monitor the player’s condition.
The 30-year-old striker currently earns around £ 240,000 a week but wants to double his salary to stay at Anfield.
At the time, Los Blancos were close to signing Kylian Mbappe on a free transfer, but the Frenchman agreed to extend his contract with Paris Saint-Germain instead.
Despite missing out on Mbappe’s signing, Real Madrid have yet to sign another striker but have signed French midfielder Aurelien Tchouameni from Monaco in their bid to strengthen the pitch ahead of next season.
As for Liverpool, the Reds have allowed Mane to join Bayern Munich after signing Darwin Nunez from Benfica. Jurgen Klopp has already strengthened his team’s attack by signing Porto’s Luis Diaz in January.
Roberto Firmino is expected to continue next season although his contract expires in 2023, but Divock Origi has parted ways with the Reds. Diogo Jota is another of Klopp’s most reliable strikers, and attacking midfielder Harvey Elliott could also fill in if Salah leaves Liverpool this summer.
