FIFA has confirmed that the teams will be able to bring 26 players to the World Cup in Qatar by the end of the year.
As the tournament draws to a close, in the midst of many club competitions, a decision has been made to increase the size of the teams to allow for more exchanges and to prevent injuries to players.
As a result, international managers are now able to summon up to 26 players for the tournament.
The shortlist – the interim team sent to FIFA in preparation for the tournament – has also been increased from 35 players to 55.
Any player included in the final 26-man squad must also play their final team game on November 13. All major European leagues have already included a winter break starting that day.
