Brazilian forward Neymar Jr. has no intentions of leaving Paris Saint-Germain in the near future, according to Spanish publication MARCA. The forward has informed everyone at the club about his decision.

The 30-year-old striker arrived in the French capital from FC Barcelona in the summer of 2017 for a world record fee of € 222 million. However, his career did not take the rising tide expected of the most expensive player of all time.

According to the above source, PSG will need to release some players in the summer to balance their books. Marca also reported that UEFA has asked Ligue 1 champions to explain their finances, which currently show a loss of approximately 224 million Euros.

La Liga president Javier Tebas has also accused Paris Saint-Germain of paying about $ 600 million in salaries and wages. This figure does not even include Kylian Mbappe’s new three-year contract.

With all these financial problems, PSG needs to cut its squad to balance the books. One such player who can help financially develop is none other than Neymar.

The Brazilian striker currently has a contract with the club until the summer of 2025. This means that the Paris giants can earn a lot of money to transfer their star players.

However, there is an issue with his salary. The 30-year-old Brazilian is currently collecting around € 50 million a year in taxes. However, there are very few clubs in the world that can afford such a low salary. Although PSG decides to sell a key player, Neymar is unwilling to leave Paris soon.

Paris Saint-Germain has two top leading players, one of whom is Lionel Messi. However, the club would prefer not to sell the seven-time Ballon d’Or winner as he has just arrived last summer and has only one year left on his contract.

Neymar did not enjoy a great 2021-22 season with PSG

Neymar has had a difficult 2021-22 season in the French capital. The Brazilian star also had another injury season that saw him play 28 games in all competitions.

The former Santos and Barcelona player, however, scored 13 goals and eight assists. This included a hat-trick against Clermont Foot in a 6-1 win over PSG.

The Paris brand will be looking forward to a much better season for its Brazilian artist. The 2022 FIFA World Cup is just around the corner and Neymar will have to perform at the top of his team in order to carry momentum in Qatar for the World Cup.
