Liverpool’s quadruple chase has confirmed plans for a show-off victory at the end of the season following the UEFA Champions League final.
Jurgen Klopp’s Reds do not know how many trophies they will win in the campaign, but they have already won the EFL Cup and the FA Cup.
The Premier League could be added to that if Manchester City slips up on the final day of the season, and European fame is a goal when Liverpool faces Real Madrid in the Paris final.
The show will be on May 28, and Liverpool now aims to return home on time to celebrate their historic season on May 29.
Liverpool Women will also be taking part in the show, having won the FA Women’s Championship.
City Mayor Joanne Anderson said: “We are thrilled that we can now confirm that the club will tour the city on May 29 – and I am happy that we will be celebrating the success of both men and women teams.
“There is a lot of work going on behind the scenes in preparing for an event of this nature and scale, so it is good that the city will be able to hear this.
“Lifting the FA Cup, the Carabao Cup, and the FA Women’s Championship trophy is an amazing achievement to be recognized, and we know it will not be the only trophy they win that day!
“Whatever the outcome of the season and the UEFA Champions League final, Liverpool FC and Liverpool FC Women have already made us proud, and we will give both teams a home celebration that they deserve.”
With the show scheduled for 4 pm, Liverpool’s statement added that the club would spend the morning on May 29 honoring 39 fans who lost their lives in the tragedy at Heysel Stadium, its 37th anniversary.
