Lionel Messi has revealed that he is still disappointed with the way Paris Saint-Germain were eliminated from the UEFA Champions League against Real Madrid.
Lionel Messi lifted the Ligue 1 trophy for the first time on Saturday night and posted a post on Instagram to celebrate his team’s success, considering the entire season.
“The season is over and I want to thank my colleagues for the way they have treated me and my family since I came and they have always taken care of me and supported me,” the message read.
“This year was different with everything that happened, but, in the end, we won the league title, and I’m very happy to win my first trophy here in Paris.”
He said the pain of losing to Real Madrid was still there.
“We are still saddened by our exclusion from the Champions League where we were a better team, but, at the same time, I want to remember the joy of adding another trophy, which was one of the goals,” he said.
“I am confident that good things are coming in 2022, it will be an important year and we will strive to compete with the desire for everything. See you soon!”
