Karim Benzema has warned Real Madrid that they must do well in their last La Liga match. Real Madrid have won the league title with four games to go, and have had the luxury of being able to rest key players ahead of the UEFA Champions League final.
Carlo Ancelotti’s men face Liverpool in the UEFA Champions League final about a week ago, in Paris.
Before that, they will face Real Betis in their last La Liga game, and Carlo Ancelotti may be tempted to rest key players to ensure certain players are not injured.
But star striker Karim Benzema told his teammates they had to do well to prepare for the Paris final.
“We are already champions, but in order to prepare for the final, we have to play well, win and be confident,” he said, referring to Mundo Deportivo.
“We play at home and we have to entertain the people who come to the game, that’s what matters.
“We have to play our best to honor Betis and win.”
Karim Benzema’s resilience will be even more important than most finalists given his impact on the tournament so far.
The Frenchman has scored 11 goals in the UEFA Champions League so far this season and has scored 44 goals in all competitions.
