Lionel Messi’s father, Jorge, has expressed his desire to see his son return to Barcelona sometime in the future.
The Argentine striker left Blaugrana last summer, when he joined Paris Saint-Germain on a free transfer after negotiations to renew his contract with President Joan Laporta broke down.
“I hope one day,” Jorge Messi replied when asked by reporters at Barcelona airport if his son could return to the Catalan club sometime.
Leo Messi’s father has confirmed that former captain Blaugrana is happy with PSG and has indicated that the Argentine will not be heading to Barcelona during the summer holidays.
His contract with PSG continues until 2023, but there is an option to extend another season.
PSG have already won the Ligue 1 title, but have failed to achieve their goal of keeping the road to the UEFA Champions League.
On Saturday evening, Messi scored PSG’s goal to beat Montpellier 4-0 in the away leg.
