Angel Di María has announced his retirement from the Argentina national team after the 2022 Qatar World Cup.

Angel Di María will not play for Argentina’s national team as he revealed on Monday. Speaking in an interview with Ole Clarin, he revealed that he has a lot of talent in the team and is leaving after the World Cup in Qatar. Here is what he said:

“After the World Cup, I believe it is time. There are a lot of kids at the top of the national team, growing up. I see it every time I walk by. Gradually they will show that they are at the top of their team and in the national team.

“It would be self-deprecating for me, after so many years, to have achieved what I have achieved and to have the World Cup so close… I wish I could be in the World Cup. After that, the thing is for sure I take a step aside. ”

The Argentine has already competed in three FIFA World Cups and has scored the most important goals for the national team. After winning the U20 World Cup and Olympic gold with Argentina, Di María scored Argentina’s 2022 Copa America goal.
