All Stars 2-3 Barcelona: A tale of two Adama Traores as Blaugrana edge five-goal thriller

Both Adama Traore of Barcelona and Adama Traore of Western Sydney Wanderers received a scoresheet as Barcelona defeated the A-Leagues All Stars 3-2 in a friendly on Wednesday.

The Xavi boys hit their home ground at Accor Stadium in front of a local crowd in New South Wales, with Ansu Fati scoring 13 minutes before the visitors’ victory.

In just the third game of the A-Leagues All-Stars – and the first since 2014 following a revival of the format – Dwight Yorke’s team fell to the Spanish heavyweights just half an hour later.

Ousmane Dembele – who may have played his last game for Barcelona – caught the ball past before scoring a clean goal with his left foot in the lower right corner to ensure the visitors were ahead in time.

But Wellington Phoenix midfielder Reno Piscopo rallied at home early in the second half to equalize the news after Barca opened the scoring at the back of the box, then fielded Ivory Coast international to take a stunning goal.

Hopes of a panic attack faded when the name of the latest player – possibly in his last Barca match – came to light as the goalkeeper failed to block his drive.

Fati then found the winner five minutes later, giving a cool ending after an Antonio Aranda run alone.
