Pep Guardiola spoke about the Argentine national team, Lionel Messi, and the coaching staff.
Guardiola is one of the coaches, if not the best coach in the world. Winner of FC Barcelona, Bayern Munich, and Manchester City, the Catalan can lift his lips.
Winning a treble in his first year as head coach of FC Barcelona, Pep Guardiola did it with very little experience. Speaking in an interview with Telemundo Sports, he said this about having experience in football:
“It is a big lie in football that experience is useful. The one who served you yesterday does not help you today. The deception of young people like Scalony, Pablo Aimar, and the people he has, has given the team what it needs. Enough, it worked. Why? It’s a mystery.
“I always do the same example. In the UEFA Champions League final, Milan beat Liverpool 3-0 at half-time. That Milan team probably had the biggest experience I have ever seen in Cafu, Maldini, Dida, Nesta, Gattuso, Pirlo, Crespo, Inzaghi… It was 3-0 at half-time and in the last 20 minutes, they lost 3-3. ”
He also mentioned Argentina winning the Copa America:
Winning Copa America in any team gives you the feeling that we have “done it” and I am sure that will help in the World Cup. I have seen little of Sceloni’s team but they have not lost for a long time and the feeling of winning and not losing will give you strength. ”
About Lionel Messi:
“The fact that I have him there, knowing that he has the unique ability to always do two or three things for no reason, be it goals or produce a game with his top teammates like Di María, Lautaro or Julián Álvarez … great power.”
