Chelsea will soon find out who their new owner will be. Following the UK government’s decision to suspend Roman Abramovich’s assets due to allegations that he was linked to Vladimir Putin, the club has been sold out and no further bids are accepted.

The top three finishers are Steven Pagliuca (owner of Atalanta and Boston Celtics), Todd Boehly (owner of LA Dodgers), and Sir Martin Broughton (former Liverpool chairman).

The Ricketts family, which owns the Chicago Cubs baseball franchise, has since withdrawn from the bid.

As reported by PA, conglomerate partners could not agree on the final bid for the bid. The PA says their retreat has nothing to do with protests by Blues supporters, who have expressed their disgust with the family over Muslim comments.

Todd Boehly is a favorite

favorite to take over at Chelsea is Todd Boehly. His fortune is worth six billion euros and he tried to take over Abramovich’s club in 2018 at a request of more than 2.5 billion euros, but his request was rejected.

Now, he is back in contention and we will soon find out who the new owner of Chelsea is.
