Mauricio Pochettino will leave Paris Saint-Germain a day after directing his team to the Ligue 1 title, Tottenham manager Antonio Conte said he had offered the club his place.
Pochettino was expected to leave Paris at the end of the season. PSG, who have also failed in Europe this season, exited the round of 16 following a terrible second leg collapse against Real Madrid.
However, according to Le Parisien, the Argentine player will be removed as manager ‘immediately.’ Both the club and Pochettino are happy and see no reason to keep him in the ring.
PSG has just four games left this season, earning a Ligue 1 title in a 1-1 draw against Lens on Saturday. Pochettino has long accepted that once home fame has been confirmed he will leave the club.
A French report also claims that PSG have already been approached by Pochettino’s potential successor, Conte.
He is currently in a fierce Premier League battle with Tottenham, which he won in November. However, there have been rumors that he is not happy about his lack of ambition for the board.
Conte is said to have been ‘committed’ to PSG for the first two years, which will send shockwaves through European football.
despite Conte’s obvious interest, former Real manager Zinedine Zidane is a favorite instead of Pochettino in the hot seat. The group believes he is coming and is still awaiting confirmation.
