Xavi Hernandez faces Dani Alves El Clasico selection call

Barcelona boss Xavi is facing a crucial call to start veteran star Dani Alves on Sunday’s El Clasico trip to Real Madrid.

Xavi is expected to hold on to his squad for the first time in a 2-1 win over La Blaugrana during the week at the Europa League in Galatasaray.

However, Alves did not feature in Turkey due to his unfit in the European Championship, and Sergino Dest’s injury made him the right choice to fill the right back.

Alves has been sidelined by Xavi following his return from Camp Nou in January and is also playing for defender Ronald Araujo who is out of action against Los Blancos.

Spain U21 international Nico Gonzalez has also returned to the club, following a ban at home, but is expected to sit on the bench.

Xavi’s other big call comes with attacks with Adam Traore and Memphis Depay both fighting for a third-place tourist attack in Madrid.
