Sadio Mane’s close-range finish earned Liverpool a nervy 1-0 win over West Ham as the Reds closed the gap on Premier League leaders Manchester City to three points.
Luis Diaz was snubbed by Diogo Jota in the Liverpool attack as West Ham had a Declan Rice-shaped midfielder in the center of England’s international injury.
Mohamed Salah really watched the game and had two chances in the first five minutes which forced the Hammers to defend themselves.
But it was teammate Sadio Mané who opened the scoring in the 27th minute when the Senegalese player connected with Trent Alexander-Arnold’s ball to touch it.
Jürgen Klopp’s side should have scored two goals earlier but West Ham managed to stop Salah from scoring due to a goalless draw.
