Kylian Mbappe will undergo a medical examination after suffering a hamstring injury in training before the Paris Saint-Germain UEFA Champions League match against Real Madrid.
With a 1-0 lead in the first leg, PSG will look to finish off Carlo Ancelotti’s side on Wednesday to reach the quarter-finals.
However, their preparations have been hampered by the news that Mbappe collapsed during training and will soon need to be seen by the team’s medical team, according to RMC Sport. The Frenchman missed PSG’s 1-0 defeat by Nice at the weekend.
The World Cup-winning midfielder suffered a similar fate in the UEFA Champions League last season, in which he was injured and forced to look away as PSG were knocked out by Manchester City in their second semi-final leg.
Mauricio Pochettino’s side were brilliant in the first leg, winning thanks to a Mbappe strike in the 93rd minute, but rumors that he may be hesitant to face the team he is expected to join in the summer hurt the French giants.
The same-store also claims that both Sergio Ramos and Ander Herrera missed team training on Monday, despite Achraf Hakimi and Leandro Paredes taking part.
As for Real, Ferland Mendy and Casemiro are both suspended, with Toni Kroos not playing due to injury. That means the less-experienced midfielder Federico Valverde, Eduardo Camavinga and Luka Modric could be implanted, with the older Marcelo expected to replace left-back.
