Chelsea defender Andreas Christensen is set to complete a free transfer to Barcelona, SPORTS reports.
The 25-year-old is in the final three months of his contract with Chelsea and has been linked with a move to Camp Nou for months. Negotiations over Bosman’s transfer have long been ongoing and the deal is now expected to be finalized soon.
Christensen is believed to have completed the first part of his treatment last week. Now, the report adds that Danish international will pass the second round of testing later today, that is, to get closer to moving forward.
It is also said that representatives of the defender will arrive in Catalonia between Monday and Thursday to check the final details of the agreement before finalizing the agreement.
All in all, the Chelsea ace looks set to be confirmed as a Barça player later this week, even if he arrives in the summer.
The report sheds light on the contract Christensen will sign with the Catalan giants. According to the review, the 25-year-old will sign a five-year contract worth 6 million euros per season, which will take the total value of the contract to 30 million euros.
Once the deal is finalized, Christensen will be the first to sign for the summer at Blaugrana under Xavi Hernandez. While the club will also bring in Emre Demir and Pablo Torre, who have recently agreed to transfer Racing Santander, they will be part of Barcelona’s B team.
The 25-year-old has been with Chelsea since 2012 and has become a regular club after a two-year loan spell with Borussia Monchengladbach. However, he is now nearing the end of his ten-year relationship with the Blues and moving to Barcelona.
