Barcelona have been in talks to sign Dani Olmo ‘for weeks’

Spain v Germany - 2019 UEFA U-21 Championship Final

Barcelona are set to bring Dani Olmo back to Catalonia this summer and have been in talks with the ‘weeks’ players’ camp.

Olmo spent seven years at Barça’s La Masia academy before leaving at the age of 16 to sign for the Croatian club Dinamo Zagreb, a move widely questioned by Spanish media.

However, the midfielder quickly moved up to Dinamo and made his 124th appearance before joining Bundesliga side, RB Leipzig.

The 23-year-old impressed while playing for an injury in Germany, but is likely to return to his hometown team.

Journalist Gerard Romero reports that Barcelona have been in talks with Olmo over a summer transfer of ‘weeks’.

It has long been reported that Barça intended to bring the Spaniard back to the Camp Nou, and with Ousmane Dembele on a free transfer, signing a flexible player like Olmo would make sense.

Olmo was in excellent form as part of Luis Enrique’s Spanish side recently, scoring the last-minute winner in their recent friendly against Albania.

Meanwhile, Barça club president Joan Laporta all but confirmed the signing of Andreas Christensen and Franck Kessie earlier this week.

A Barcelona official has admitted that the club has agreed on agreements to sign a full-back and midfielder, but has not been allowed to officially reveal their names.
