Nicolas Tagliafico is disappointed to miss out on Barcelona. The Ajax defender is looking forward to a new club, with his approval, and it looks like Barca could be an option.
The Blaugrana could make an extra cover on the left-back, with elderly Jordi Alba and inexperienced Alejandro Balde.
Tagliafico looked like a man, but Barça decided to prioritize some contracts and the defender stays at Ajax until the summer.
After the transfer window closed in January, Tagliafico were discussing a collapse.
And he made it clear that he was disappointed he missed the opportunity to go to Camp Nou.
“They understand me, they have their motives but it’s a shame,” he told Diario AS about Sport.
“I feel like opportunities are not to be missed and it is a unique opportunity, to be able to go to a team like Barca.
“For me it was a dream come true and they could not help me in the end.
“It was not clear from the start. It was not clear from the start that they would not help me.
“I am disappointed because I feel that my job has hurt me.”
Barca may need a left-back for a long time, but they can wait now.
Blaugrana are likely to want to sign a left-back in the summer, with Balde on loan before next season.
Tagliafico will hope to return by then, a year before the end of his Ajax contract.
