Napoli and Barcelona have expressed opposition to Russia’s full attack on neighboring Ukraine ahead of their Europa League match on Thursday.
Ahead of the start of the match at Stadio Diego Armando Maradona, the two sides came together to hold a proclamation with the message “Stop the war” after Russian President Vladimir Putin launched a war in Ukraine on Thursday.
UEFA is expected to advance to the Champions League final this season, which is scheduled to be played in St Petersburg.
Meanwhile, Poland, Sweden, and the Czech Republic have all demanded that Russia be denied the right to host the upcoming World Cup qualifiers.
The second leg of the final round between Napoli and Barca was in full swing following a 1-1 draw at Camp Nou last week when Ferran Torres withdrew Piotr Zielinski’s previous effort.
