Liverpool managed to snatch Luis Diaz on the January transfer window deadline and the Colombian midfielder has settled into his new club, with a host of big names praising the striker.
From his coach Jurgen Klopp to previous Liverpool legends, Diaz has made a huge impact.
“We have now seen two games in which Luis played – in or out – where he was amazing,” said Jurgen Klopp after the game against Norwich City, where Diaz hit.
“Today was a difficult task for him too, it was a tough game, a difficult encounter. So sitting on the pitch, staying in the game shows a real level because we changed the system and put Luis in the middle of Sadio.
“He’s a great talent, a really good player. I think he’s very happy tonight. He should.”
Captain Jordan Henderson also sang his praises after a 3-1 victory at Anfield on Saturday. “he’s been smart since she came in,” Henderson told Match of the Day.
“His level of work in training and sports. His level is also, one compared to another. His finish you can see is a high cabinet too.
“Hopefully, that will give him the confidence to continue.”
James Rodriguez, a former Everton player, was delighted to see his international team-mate perform well.
“I’m very happy with the way he is doing at Liverpool,” he said. “He scored a great goal against Norwich and I hope he can do good things.”
Former Liverpool midfielder Paul Ince even said Diaz could be a Liverpool legend.
“I’ve watched him play against Leicester and it looks like he’s been in Liverpool for four or five years, he’s a good fit,” Ince said.
“I’m sure he’ll get better and Liverpool fans will love him. He could be a legend in Liverpool easily.”
Michael Owen knows a thing or two about being a successful striker, and he highly commends the loyalty of the Colombian player.
“I like his sharpness. He looks fast, he looks healthy, he seems to be pressing the ball, he has no problem running to the players and hitting them.”
