Villarreal have completed Giovani Lo Celso’s return to La Liga as part of a daily loan deal.
The Yellow Submarine has been working on a move for Tottenham in recent days after Lo Celso stepped down from Antonio Conte in recent weeks.
Spurs have now confirmed that an agreement has been reached between the two clubs, with the former Real Betis player signing a six-month contract, until the end of the 2021/22 campaign.
The deal does not include an option to buy from an Argentine overseas player but there are rumors that Villarreal will open a permanent deal this summer.
Lo Celso’s return to Spanish football is the second loan deal between Spurs and La Liga club on the final day of the transfer window.
Valencia have also secured a loan deal with Spanish Premier League side Bryan Gil.
