Cameroon will take home a third in this year’s Africa Cup of Nations after defeating Burkina Faso on penalties on Saturday.

Cameroon beat Burkina Faso on penalties to claim third place at the Africa Cup of Nations after recovering from three goals down at Stade Ahmadou Ahidjo.

As one of the news of the tournament, Burkina Faso’s impressive Afcon run looks set to continue as it hosts Cameroon host Steve Yago.

And their luck stayed as the first round went on. Unfortunately for Cameroon Ajax goalkeeper André Onana’s mistake turned things around 2-0 and Djibril Ouattara added a third after the break.

However, not down yet, the late push from the athletes saw them pull themselves back with an amazing comeback.

Towards the end of the match, Stéphane Bahoken pulled one back and scored two goals in the dying moments of Vincent Aboubakar who played well and saw things go from 3-0 to 3-3.

As the game went into extra time, neither team was able to see the game go back to the penultimate round when the home side won 5-3.
