Barcelona coach Xavi Hernandez feels that Real Madrid are the best form in Spain ahead of their Supercopa de Espana semi-final on Wednesday.

The Catalans’ struggle is well documented in the campaign, with Los Blancos flying high over LaLiga, and the newly appointed coach feels his team is facing a tough challenge in Riyadh.

“I see Barcelona [side] under construction and Real Madrid [side] are in very good shape, but that doesn’t mean anything,” he told a news conference.

“We have faced all the situations. It will not be easy to force our game because it is the most in-form team in Spain.”

Although Barcelona is still a long way off under its new manager, Xavi has seen improvement since taking over.

“I see good things in the team. We have to criticize ourselves, yes, but I see good things,” he said.

“Sometimes we do well and we have to keep building this project, tomorrow is a good test to know where we are.

“Players like Pedri, Ferran Torres, and Ronald Araujo are important to the team and I’m happy to have them.”

Xavi feels that defeating their rivals could mean turning on his team.

“It could be a change. Entering the finals and winning the title can make our work more credible,” he said.

“It would be important [to win the semi-finals]. It would not give us the title, because it would be a final, but it would be very important for us.”

“For us, it is a challenge, a chance to win the title. We are very motivated and it can change.

“We will try to be actors and do a lot of good things.

“Clasicos is unpredictable. No one knows what can happen, even if the points difference [between the two].”
