Real Madrid are no longer interested in signing Chelsea defender Antonio Rudiger, who was previously on a free transfer as his current contract expires next summer.
The German defender is free to negotiate a pre-contract deal with another club as he has less than six months left on his contract at Stamford Bridge, and has been linked with players such as Juventus, Paris Saint-Germain, and Bayern Munich, as well as Real Madrid.
According to Jose Luis Sanchez on the El Chiringuito Twitch channel, however, Los Blancos is no longer on the hunt. The club has cooled down its interest in Rudiger and will not follow an official proposal, despite having discussions with the player’s representatives.
This may be motivated by two factors: first, that Carlo Ancelotti is happy to pair Eder Militao with David Alaba at the back; and second, Rudiger’s financial needs will make him an important investment, despite the lack of transfer funding.
