Mauricio Pochettino’s big decision to make against Real Madrid: To play Ramos or not

Sergio Ramos first goal scored for psg

Sergio Ramos gained strength and form at the right time for Paris Saint-Germain. The defender is back in good form and even scored his first goal in 10 months against Reims for the last time against Atalanta in March 2021.

He shows that he is ready to be a key player for PSG, all against Real Madrid in the Champions League soon. Now, however, he has to convince Mauricio Pochettino to choose him before Marquinhos or Presnel Kimpembe.

Marquinhos’ call-up to Brazil could play him, as he will play on January 31 against Nice. Then there are two more PSG games ahead of Real Madrid, which will face French champions Lille and then Rennes.

Pochettino’s center-back has been strong during the season so far, playing in every 17 games Ligue 1 has been found to play for teams. The Brazilian has played in every Champions League match, Kimpembe has played five of six.

So far, Ramos has not threatened to end the relationship, but things are changing now. He is struggling to find a place in the XI as he has finally recovered.

Pochettino knows how much impact Ramos can have in big games, as he has shown many times to Real Madrid. He can decide.

French media speculate that PSG could play three full-backs against Real Madrid, or that Marquinhos could return to midfield to welcome the Spaniard.
