Manchester United should sell Cristiano Ronaldo in this summer insists Gabby Agbonlahor

Manchester United are once again in the thick of things following a defeat by Wolverhampton Wanderers, and former Aston Villa striker Gabriel Agbonlahor believes Cristiano Ronaldo is one of the Red Devils’ biggest problems.

Agbonlahor now feels that the Portuguese star has a toxic effect on the club and sees the departure of January as the best result for Manchester United.

“Before Ronaldo came in, [Bruno] Fernandes was a great man. Now Ronaldo is a great man,” he told talkSPORT.

“Ronaldo was captain against the Wolves. Before Ronaldo arrived it was Fernandes who was captain when Harry Maguire was absent and is now on the bench.

“There will be tension there. If you look at the whole situation, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will know that you made a mistake by bringing in Ronaldo, it’s that easy.

“Yes, Ronaldo scored but he scored goals [Mason] Greenwood could have scored, [Marcus] Rashford would have scored in that position.

“For me, I would let Ronaldo go in the summer. Let Greenwood, Sancho, and Rashford play together.”
