Joan Laporta has refused to rule out Barcelona’s signing of Borussia Dortmund star Erling Haaland.
The Catalans’ financial woes are well documented, but that did not stop them from signing Ferran Torres this January, and Alvaro Morata could follow soon. Now, Barcelona fans can continue to dream of finding a Norwegian.
“All the big players are thinking of joining Barcelona,” Laporta said when asked about the possibility of Haaland’s arrival next summer. “We are still a reference in the player exchange market.
“I do not want to talk about certain players. It does not help us because their numbers are going up. We are looking to strengthen where the coach [Xavi Hernandez] wants.
“Barcelona is a reference in the transfer market. We are working on developing the team, and we will soon see the rise of Barcelona.”
