Karl Toto Ekambi was the hero of the hour as his 2nd-half double saw Cameroon beat the Gambia to qualify for the AFCON 2021 semi-finals. Douala was jumping as the hosts took on the Gambia, a side who had impressed in Group F with two wins and a draw.

And it was the home outfit who took the initiative early on with a monopoly on the ball, although there were few chances to write home about.

But they should have taken the lead on 35 minutes when Vincent Aboubakar headed straight at the goalkeeper from five yards out.

After the break though, Cameroon eventually got their opener as Karl Toto Ekambi leaped highest and headed in brilliantly from 12 yards.

The Lyon forward then got his second of the game soon after, finishing superbly from the back post after good work by Martin Yma.

After a disappointing campaign so far, Tunisia will be looking to claim their place in the semi-final with a win over Burkina Faso.
