Barcelona may look better under Xavi Hernandez, but they still lack the touch of the clinic front of goal, and the Blaugrana desperately needs a natural striker.

The injured Memphis Depay is currently Barcelona’s top scorer, but even the Dutchman has not been able to convince his players so far this season.

Meanwhile, all Barcelona were missing from the Estadio Ramon Sanchez-Pizjuan on Tuesday became a deadly coach, as Xavi’s team tried 23 shots, including an effort by Ousmane Dembele to hit the post.

Sergio Aguero has retired, with Martin Braithwaite and Ansu Fati both injured, meaning Luuk de Jong is currently the only natural striker on the team.

However, De Jong is nothing but a Barcelona striker and Xavi has been forced to step up to see B team striker Ferran Jutgla, who has started in the last two games and opened the scoring for Elche.

Four teams have scored more goals than Barcelona in LaLiga Santander this season, as Real Madrid, Sevilla, Real Betis, and Valencia have all improved Blaugrana’s goalscoring record so far.

Barcelona will try to sign a striker in the January transfer window, with Manchester City’s Ferran Torres and Manchester United’s Edinson Cavani all in the spotlight.
