Lionel Messi’s Paris Saint-Germain signing in the summer has changed the appeal of French football around the world wide.

Although the Argentine captain will not have an impact on the field at home, as he has impressed in Europe, his arrival has made a difference off the field.

L’Equipe reported that beIN Sports has signed 50 of the league’s international broadcasting contracts, which are being broadcast to more than 200 countries around the world.

BeIN is paying 75 million euros per season to broadcast  Ligue 1 overseas, with most of the signings being signed for the 2021-24 cycle since Leo Messi’s departure, including Belgium, Soth Asian countries like India, Bangladesh, Pakistan, Nepal, and Vietnam.

Sweden and Norway also jumped on the Lionel Messi bandwagon, as well as Spain and Twitch.

In terms of visual figures, there was an increase of more than 76 percent in North Africa and the Middle East alone in the PSG v Marseille match on October 24.
