The France international Kylian Mbappe is still under its annual contract, Real Madrid made huge bids for its services.

However, PSG have chosen not to accept any of these offers, but have chosen to use the coming months to negotiate new terms with the World Cup winner.

Despite acknowledging his desire to leave Paris, the 22-year-old says he has not opposed PSG’s decision to keep him in the club.

According to RMC Sport in an interview on Tuesday, Mbappe said: “I asked to leave because, from the moment I didn’t want to extend it, I wanted the club to get a transfer fee so that they could bring about quality change.

“This club has given me so much, I have always been happy, the 4 years I have been here, I still have it. I say it long enough for the club to respond.

“I wanted everyone to get out of this mess, that we were leaving a handful so that there would be a good working relationship and I respected that. I said, if you don’t want me to go, I’ll stay.”

If Mbappe does not sign a new contract before the end of the year, he will be able to hold talks with any club outside of France.
