Barcelona and Jorge Mendes have reached an agreement to extend Ansu Fati’s new contract. The Spanish striker’s final contract expires in 2022.

According to the Mundo Deportivo reports suggest that Matthew Alemany has traveled to Porto for a meeting with Ansu Fati’s agent, Jorge Mendes.

Ansu Fati was always convinced that he only wanted to stay at Camp Nou, and informed Jorge Mendes, as the agent was already looking for a new place. Ansu Fati will sign a 5-year contract until 2027. The agreement will be legal in the next few days.

The extension of the youngster’s contract became a major milestone in Barcelona after the announcement of Pedri’s new contract. The midfielder was the first in a long list of Barça’s new skills needed to extend their contracts.

Jorge Mendes and the club began negotiations a few weeks ago. The agreement will be finalized two months before Ansu Fati is allowed to open talks with either party.

As soon as the Spanish international sign a contract, Barcelona will have completed its goal, extending Fati’s contract ahead of ‘El Clasico’.
