PSG are back in contention for the signing of Lionel Messi. The initial announcement that Messi was leaving Barcelona did not cause PSG to think twice about the financial crisis, but that all changed when the player’s agent and father contacted the French club on Thursday.

According to Marca Jorge Messi has reached out to PSG to see if the club is in a position to sign his son, but he is not the only club involved. Chelsea are also keen to sign him, as is Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City.

The truth about PSG is that communication has already taken place and negotiations are in place. Their response to Messi’s father did not mean everything was going well and the deal would continue, but they said they were trying to find a way that would allow them to sign for Argentina but also hold Kylian Mbappe.

They know that the only way to sign him is to get a large refund for the use of his image, and MARCA has learned that they believe they will need to get 100 %- or close to that – of his image rights.

the report on Thursday that PSG are facing a $ 200 million debt this season and need to sell players, but PSG Owner Nasser Al Khelaifi wants to hold Kylian Mbappe as well as signing Leo Messi.

PSG’s current plan is to put more players in the transfer market, and they believe they should be able to make money with the players they have, but no one wants to leave. It is possible that Messi’s arrival in the French capital could affect Angel Di Maria, who was recently revived at Paris.

A quick fix for the club would be to put Mbappe on the transfer market. The ball is now in Al Khelaifi’s court, and it remains to be seen whether he will be able to bring it.
