Martin Odegard spent the 2nd half of last season on loan with Arsenal before returning to the Bernabeu and was expected to be a key player for Real Madrid this season.
According to Marca, the Norwegian international player believed he would be given a direct route to his return to the club, but Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti informed the player that he was fighting with 7 other players in his place, which eventually led to his departure.
Martin Odegaard officially joined Arsenal on Friday morning, signing a contract at the Emirates Stadium until the summer of 2025.
Norway leaves Real Madrid just 11 games in the first team since arriving in Stromsgodset in 2015.
Martin Odegaard has scored 2 goals and provided 2 assists in his 20 appearances for Arsenal last season, and is likely to take part in Sunday’s Premier League match against Chelsea.
