Lautaro Martinez scored his first goal of the new season as Inter Milan came from behind to beat Hellas Verona 3-1 at home last weekend.
After Romelu Lukaku’s move to Chelsea, Inter Milan were keen to hold on to Argentine striker Lautaro Martinez, whose contract was expected to expire in 2023.
According to Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzio, Lautaro Martinez has now agreed to extend his contract by four or five years, costing about £ 6m per season and bonuses.
The report also states that there is a full agreement between the two sides and only the player’s signature is lost in order for the agreement to be finalized.
Lautaro Martinez has been linked with a move to the Premier League this summer, with North London rivals Tottenham Hotspur and Arsenal believed to have expressed interest but is now determined to make his future with Inter.
The former Racing Club striker enjoyed an impressive 2020-21 season for the Scudetto champions, scoring 19 goals and provided 11 assists in 48 games in all competitions.
