FIFA president Gianni Infantino urges EPL and La Liga clubs to release players

FIFA president Infantino has issued a statement urging Premier League and La Liga clubs to release their players for the September international tournament.

Both the Premier League and La Liga announced on Tuesday that they would not release players who had to travel to “red spots” during the September international break. This will prevent all South American players from traveling to South America to take part in the September World Cup qualifiers.

This will affect a total of 60 players in total from 19 Premier League teams, who had to travel to the 26 red countries in total.

Despite this decision, FIFA has not given up hope that the UK government can offer people who are not allowed to live alone as they have done many times before. Infantino is currently urging Downing Street to apologize to footballers for their separation, as stated in an official FIFA statement.
