Chelsea are said to be determined to increase defensive tactics in the 2021-22 season, with Kounde firmly linked with a move to Stamford Bridge in recent weeks.

According to AS, the UEFA Champions League winners have reached an agreement with the French themselves and now have to pay a transfer fee with his Spanish club.

Sevilla are believed to be paying tribute to their defender, who has 3 years left on his contract at Estadio Ramon, in the region of € 70m (£ 59.6m), allegedly Chelsea was unwilling to pay him at the start of the transfer market window.

Chelsea have spent just under £ 100m to bring Romelu Lukaku back to the club this summer, with the club reportedly suggesting a move for Atletico Madrid midfielder Saul Niguez.

Chelsea will be looking to win back at the start of the new Premier League season when they travel to Arsenal on Sunday afternoon.
