The Argentina Captain Leo Messi’s contract with the Catalan giants has expired June 2021, meaning he is, as it were, a free transfer agent, more than 2 weeks before the start of the La Liga 2021-22 season.

Leo Messi has been on holiday since helping Argentina win the Copa America 2021 earlier this month,

According to the Sport, the experienced striker returned to Barcelona on Wednesday. The report also added that Messi has agreed on a new 5-year contract with Barca worth £ 250,000 a week, which is 50% of the club’s financial crisis.

Leo Messi is expected to write a paper in the middle of next week, which will end Barcelona’s difficult period, which has struggled to convince the striker to extend his stay at the Camp Nou.

Leo Messi has scored 672 goals in 778 games for his team so far in all competitions, including 38 goals in 47 games during the last season.
